Architecturelab is a small architectural practice founded in 2025 by Murat Uyanmis, with optimism, curiosity and initiative at its core. It provides architectural design and delivery services with a thoughtful and thorough approach, emphasising well-resolved, high-quality design. With an equal interest in how ideas are realised in built form, we are passionate about taking projects from design through construction to ensure the quality and intent of the design are rigorously carried through to completion.
After graduating from Istanbul Technical University (BSc in Architecture) and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (Master of Architecture), Murat worked at Leroy Street Studio in New York. Moving to London, he continued his career at Kohn Pedersen Fox, Adamson Associates and tp bennett. Following his exposure to international and London projects at KPF, he worked as one of the site architects on the 38-storey office tower known as the Walkie-Talkie (designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects), from the beginning of construction through to completion, as well as delivery architect for the HCA Entrance to The Shard and the landlord’s post-completion works at London Bridge Quarter (designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop).
During eight years as a Project Director at tp bennett, he worked on the design and delivery of high-specification CAT A and CAT B office buildings, including 80 Fenchurch Street, a 14-storey office building providing over 20,000 sqm of office accommodation and a carefully designed entrance experience comprising lobby, forum and co-working spaces articulated through natural materials.
With over 20 years of experience in design and delivery, Murat brings his diverse professional experience to projects by working closely with clients, engineers, designers and contractors. The freedom to form relationships specific to each project brings complementary expertise together making each project a particular journey toward a considered and individual outcome.
Outside architecture, Murat is a keen amateur pianist with an interest in graphic design and photography.
